Students are required to be present at the internship site every working day, in accordance with the schedule agreed upon with the internship mentor/promoter.

In the event of absence, the following procedure must be followed:

The student must notify the (co-)promoter and/or the internship site before the time they would normally start the internship, indicating the expected duration of the absence.
After this initial notification, the student must inform the internship supervisor and the internship coordinator by email before 9:00 a.m. In the case of prolonged absence, the international coordinator must also be informed.
The absence must also be reported to the student administration via iBamaflex under “My absences”.
Every absence must be officially justified by a valid medical certificate. Medical certificates must be uploaded to iBamaflex within 48 hours after reporting the absence or illness. A copy must also be provided to the (co-)promoter.
Medical certificates submitted after three days will no longer be accepted, and the student will be considered unjustifiably absent. In the case of an unjustified absence, the student cannot pass the course unit and will receive an absence score. A copy of the supporting document (e.g. a medical certificate) must be provided to the internship mentor within 48 hours, while the original document must be submitted to the school administration. In the case of an unjustified absence, the student cannot pass the course unit and will receive an absence code.

Per internship period, a maximum of one day of justified absence is allowed. If a student is absent for more than one justified day, the additional absence must be made up. Catch-up days must be planned in mutual agreement with the internship mentor, preferably during the Easter break and/or a postponed lecture-free week. The internship supervisor and internship coordinator must be informed of the agreed dates.

If absences are made up outside the originally agreed internship period, an addendum to the internship contract must be drawn up and signed.
